Kobe Bryant never gets tired of being the Lakers' closer. And though he savored the chance to stop Los Angeles' longest losing streak in nearly three years with yet another flawless game-winning shot, Bryant is hoping he won't have to bail out the Lakers quite so frequently in the final weeks before they defend their title.

Lakers fans have a new player to love to hate: Matt Barnes. The Lakers' loss Sunday in Orlando featured some contentious moments between Barnes and Lakers star Kobe Bryant, who afterward called Barnes "entertaining." There wasn't much lightness to the attitudes of Barnes or Bryant during the game, however, with them drawing double technical fouls just after halftime. They had a few run-ins thereafter, too. The game ended with Bryant missing a jumper over Barnes, who guarded Bryant through much of a 12-for-30 shooting outing. "He was a feisty player (Sunday)," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said of Barnes. Bryant said he actually liked that Barnes came at him strong, saying: "I hate playing against guys who just roll over." Bryant's teammate Lamar...

Dwight Howard was barking in the locker room, mocking some Lakers he claimed called his Orlando Magic team "puppies." Out on the court, the Magic showed they can bite. Vince Carter had 25 points, Howard finished with 15 points and 16 rebounds and the Magic beat the Lakers 96-94 on Sunday to hand Los Angeles its first three-game losing streak of the Pau Gasol-Kobe Bryant Era.
