Lakers Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
17 Jul 2008 at 1:05pm
The Lakers' Western Conference champion core is likely to undergo its first major change with power forward Ronny Turiaf expected to go to the Golden State Warriors via restricted free agency. The Lakers have the right to match a reported four-year, $17 million offer from Golden State to Turiaf, but the Lakers have major luxury-tax concerns now and going forward and will probably let Turiaf go. The Lakers already have a crowded crew of big men with likely starters in center Andrew Bynum and power forward Pau Gasol. After that, Lamar Odom is capable of playing power forward, but also under contract and improving in health is backup center Chris Mihm. Vladimir Radmanovic and Luke Walton can swing to the power forward spot, too.
